In Loving Memory of James Pourkaveh

James Jamshid Pourkaveh, 71 of Mesa, Arizona passed into the loving arms of God on March 2, 2024 at Banner Gateway Medical Center, Gilbert, Arizona, after a year-long battle with leukemia. He was born on February 9, 1953 in Izeh, Iran to Nabat Begin and Morad Pourkaveh. James moved to Bisbee, AZ from Iran in 1978, to attend school. He furthered his education in Flagstaff, AZ, and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology in 1984. He obtained his US citizenship in 1985.

James is survived by his wife, Faith Pourkaveh, and children, Justin Pourkaveh and Lauren Stockton. Additionally he is survived by numerous siblings, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family had a Celebration of Life on March 9, 2024 for family and friends at Redemption Gilbert Church, and shared memories from his life. They heard stories of his perseverance, determination, honorable intentions, and his servant-attitude. He will be so missed by many, but not defined by leukemia any longer. Interment was completed April 29, 2024 at Green Acres in Scottsdale, Arizona with family present.
