Russell Wall

Obituary of Russell Thomas Wall

Russ Wall, 56, died unexpectedly near his home in Chandler, AZ on October 22, 2023. Russ was born on a snowy day in St. Joseph, MI on March 20, 1967 to Gail (Willis) Wall and Robert Wall. His two older sisters loved him right from the start, and throughout his life his smile and laugh brightened their day and made everything seem right.

He was a creative entrepreneur launching several business ventures, and a prolific artist. He displayed his artistic side from an early age, making detailed pencil drawings as a kid and finding other mediums to express his talents over the years, including award winning graphic designs. He graduated high school from Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts and college from Arizona State University. After college he made Arizona his home. He had life-long friends, often staying connected through a mutual love of sports. Russ was a loyal - win or lose - and vocal Boston sports fan. He also played sports throughout his life, ice hockey and golf being his favorites.

He is survived by his former wife Ruth (Hammond) Wall and their children Izak Wall of Tempe, AZ and Avri Wall of Phoenix, AZ; sisters Laural (Wall) Ruggles and her husband Tim of Danville, VT and Lynn (Wall) Smith and her husband Gary of Mendon, MA; and half-brother Ryan Wall-O’Mara and his wife Heather of Las Vegas, NV. He was the fun uncle to his nieces and nephews, and will be remembered fondly by his cousins, uncles, and Aunt Gay (Willis) Sabin.

He was predeceased by his mother and father.

Funeral arrangements were made by Falconer Funeral Home in Gilbert, AZ. Friends and family are asked to celebrate and remember his life by sharing stories, cheering for your favorite teams, or in whatever way you like.
