Obituary of Charles Rutledge

Charles O'Dell Rutledge, a beloved Husband, Brother and Uncle, passed away on Friday, May 26th, 2023, at the age of 91. Charles was born on June 29, 1931 in Marmaduke, Arkansas to William Boyd Rutledge and Lizzie Beth (Smith) Rutledge. Charles was the oldest son of his parents and grew up with two sisters, Luella and Patsy, and two brothers, Larry and Melvin. Charles was preceded in death by his sister Luella, brother Larry, and sister Patsy Kerr. Charles had a long and fulfilling life and his legacy lives on through his wife Ida Rutledge, whom he married December 2, 1959 and spent 63 years with. Charles and Ida made their home in Gilbert, AZ where they made countless memories. In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by his brother, Melvin Rutledge and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He was a devoted husband and his love for his family knew no bounds. Flowers and condolences can be sent to Falconer's Funeral Home in Gilbert, AZ to celebrate Charles's life and legacy. Charles will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ. Charles will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on forever in the hearts of those he touched.
